Chartwell Ridgepointe Retirement Residence Grows Senior Housing Options in Kamloops while Supporting Reforestation
Construction is underway on a major expansion of Chartwell Ridgepointe Retirement Residence in Kamloops, a project that broadens local housing options for seniors while also supporting BC reforestation.
Chartwell Ridgepointe’s donation of $35.4K to global reforestation charity One Tree Planted will support the replanting of various areas of the Okanagan Valley destroyed by forest fires. 28,000 trees will be planted assisting in offsetting local carbon emissions, creating reforesting jobs and improving local biodiversity.
“As the largest senior living owner/operator in Canada, we are committed to reducing the environmental impacts of our business while maintaining and improving the wellbeing and quality of life for our residents,” said Chartwell CEO Vlad Volodarski. “At Chartwell, we see it as our duty to continuously evolve, improve and grow our contribution to society.”
Chartwell Ridgepointe is often described as “the castle on the hill” for its spectacular Pineview Valley location and mountain views. The new four-storey building will include 90 apartments with kitchens, offering an ideal choice for seniors looking to lead a social, worry-free lifestyle. Options to add meals and housekeeping services provide convenience and flexibility.
Once compete, Chartwell Ridgepointe will offer 190 suites and updated amenity areas including a new library.
The new building is expected to welcome residents in early 2023.
